ULSTER FRIENDS are invites to Des Allemands for the CATFISH FESTIVAL - Sunday, July 13

Directions From Kenner to Des Allemands:

I-10 W to I-310 S for about 12 miles (approximately 10 minutes), exit to right on Hwy. 90 W to Houma; Continue on Hwy. 90 W about through Paradis (past St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at LA 306) to Des Allemands (apporoximately 10 more minutes on Hwy. 90). (Total Travel Time About 30 min from Kenner at speed limit, normal traffic).

Mass at St. Gertrude Catholic Church at 10:00 AM, Festival will begin after mass, directly behind the church (rides, food/game/crafts booths, music) Upon reaching Des Allemands, St. Gertrude Catholic Church will be on the right hand side of LA 631 in the "Des Allemands Business District" which forks right from Hwy. 90 W before reaching the Chevron gas station and signal light on LA 632 (the second chance to get to St. Gertrude Catholic Church.

Fish-Fry at O'Rourke Home, 4209 Hwy. 90 East (the Lafourche side of the Des Allemands bridge from church): Continue on Hwy. 90 W through flashing light at Chevron station, across Des Allemands Bridge, move into left lane; continue past the truck stop, the airboat tour, campground, and Judd's Daquiri Shop (all on left side of highway) where you will see a "big boat" on land in front of a billboard ("Think Ahead...Join A Leader in the Gulf"). Look for the Ulster signs. Turn left into the third U-turn from the bridge. Double back from the U-turn to the first driveway on the Raceland side of the Big Boat (look for Ulster Project Signs). 11:00-6:00 pm

Bring soft drinks/beer, (something to throw on grill if you don't eat fried fish) salad/side dish, or desert; swim suit to jump in bayou/or go canoeing if bayou is clear of water hyacinths, and fishing pole/bait.
